Our Camp

Our Camp

Our permanent desert campsite is your oasis in the desert; there’s nowhere better to relax after exploring the magnificent desert surroundings. Far from the distractions of the village and in the Al Qattar region of the protected area, the camp is ideally located for those wanting to experience the quiet beauty of the desert at night. Our camp is placed next to the towering mountain of Jebel Khazali, which gives shelter from the wind and a unique feel to the camp.

For those wanting to experience the Bedouin culture then this is the place to be! You can enjoy tea, traditionally cooked meals, listen to the Bedouin music and learn about life in the desert as you relax after a long day of seeing everything that Wadi Rum has to offer.

Types of Room in the Camp:

  • 10 Double rooms
  • 2 Family rooms (5-6 people)

  • Beds and sleeping equipment in goatskin tent
  • Western-style toilets and hot showers
  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Dining area
  • Indoor seating area with fire

The camp is located in the Al Qattar area, directly south from Wadi Rum village. Nearby sites include the Al Qattar spring, Khazali Canyon and the sand dune, making this a great location from which to explore the desert. Being this far South means that our camp is right in the middle of the protected area, making it easy to access all parts of the beautiful Wadi Rum desert.

Sleeping in the Camp

Sleeping in the camp is a great experience, which is offered to everyone who goes on any of our multi-day tours. However, if you would like to come to Wadi Rum just to stay in the camp then this is also possible. You are very welcome to enjoy the Bedouin hospitality, food and music and we will do our very best to make you feel at home in the desert. We are so happy to share this with all those who visit and look forward to showing them our traditional way of life when staying here.

Prices: 1 person: 30JD, 2-3 people: 25JD per person, 4-6 people: 20JD

Sleeping Under the Stars

For a truly unforgettable night in Wadi Rum then sleeping under the stars in the middle of the desert can’t be beaten. For most of the year, we enjoy weather that makes being outdoors very comfortable at night and we like to enjoy this as much as possible! All the guides at Bedouin Experience Camp know the desert in great detail, so all of the best places to stay in the desert are known to them. After completing a tour during the day, we will find a great place in the desert to camp for the night. We can provide tents and blankets, though some nights you may not even need them! This is of course with water, tea, meals and English speaking guides to make your sleep under the magical night sky in Wadi Rum as comfortable as possible.
